Glock 43x Oem Mag Extension - Anyone talking about handguns in recent months has probably asked about their 15-round magazine Glock 48. Fortunately, this company isn't just a scam. Offering magazine extensions, high end components and complete firearms, Armored Arms is an established player in the firearms market. I wondered if their product would be as good as it looked, so I grabbed a Glock +5 extension to test it out.
Installing Extension Arms is a bit more complicated than most, but they do have advantages.
Glock 43x Oem Mag Extension
First, disassemble the OEM Glock magazine and remove the spring followers. Transfer the electric spring rider to the Shield.

Use the included tool to remove the screws on the extension base plate, then remove the base plate itself. Now use the tool to pull down the lock tab. Next, slide the extension rod over the magazine from front to back, and insert the spring and follower. Raise the locking tab to prevent the magazine from being removed from the extension Compress the magazine spring and place it on the extension base plate. Finally insert the bottom plate fixing screws and tighten.
This may seem like a complicated installation process, but it's actually intuitive. The separation of the extension base plate allows for easy maintenance of the spring and follower without removing the entire extension. Overall, this is one of the more complex extensions to install, but it has some unique features.
The Glock Magazine Extended Sleeve is size wise on the slim side. The edges are rounded and well decorated. There is a large notch on the side which helps provide a good purchase when reloading. The finish is smooth with a matte finish; It's not as smooth as a Taran Tactical or Dawson Precision extension, but it doesn't have a frame.
The top edge is shaved for use in flaming magazines. The 4.3-ounce Shield Arms compensation, while one of the more trim options, is on the heavy side. Power has been increased by +5 9mm and length remains within USPSA requirements.
Glock 43x Review
All magazine extensions are tested before the belt can be trusted. The standards are simple. Each magazine is fully loaded, then dropped five times from the shoulder length onto the concrete. The magazine falls directly into the extension, just like a pistol. During the third impact, the extension was removed from the magazine. After reconnecting, the remaining two points did not sustain any noticeable damage other than a few minor cuts and cracks.
The Shield Enhancement Edition was one of my most important magazines in 2019 and early 2020. It is used at various regular times, USPSA, marksman seminars, Rangemaster instructor development courses, and Citizen Defense Studies pistol tests and standards. The expansion has withstood a variety of weather and environmental conditions, from heavy rains to extreme heat and sand. During the whole demonstration, I never experienced any error or stop using this extension, except for the cases mentioned in the point test. The mounting screws hold it firmly in place, and the magazine also falls freely when turned to more angles.
Overall, the Hand Shield +5 Glock mag extension is great. Where the function is large, the form follows. While installation requires equipment, which is not convenient, it is straightforward. These are great options if you're looking for a magazine extension for your carry or race.

Glock 43x Vs Glock 43 (with Pictures)

Tyrant Designs is an American made high quality CNC machined AR-15 and pistol upgrade and accessories. They recently sent me a pair of Glock 43X's with 48 +4 magazine extensions. When it comes to magazine extensions, deciding whether they are quality extensions often comes down to how well they work with the gun. In addition to that size, we will also discuss how they change the carrying experience compared to standard capacity magazines.
My first impression of the magazine spread can be summed up in one word – accurate. On the old machine, I can see the CNC quality of these parts. Although the extension of the magazine seems to have many sharp edges, it is cut at a comfortable angle to prevent any kind of driving or scratching when controlling or controlling.
The anodizing is done well and resists general reaction and scratching, but it will come off if you make enough effort - it doesn't mean vulnerable, but enough that you won't wear the surface in normal use.
Visually, I'd give it a solid 9/10 - they look great in addition to the original two-tone finish on the Glock 43X and Glock 48 I own. The magazine is the same size as the grip and only extends downward, adding to the overall length of the weapon in this configuration. In other colors, I would like it to look a little more fancy, but the black and silver tyrant gave me a gun that looks great.
Shield Arms S 15
This is the most frustrating part of the magazine extension for a Glock pistol. With most pistol magazines, all you have to do is push the button on the bottom of the magazine and slide it off the bottom plate. For Glock magazines, there are two small tabs on the left and right sides of the magazine body that extend to the bed frame, in addition to the bottom button that pushes the spring seat, the bed frame needs to be pushed down.
There are tools to do this, but I started using a pair of channel locks to cool the sides. Even with a channel lock, it requires a lot of force to get past the small locking bolt to remove the original bottom plate.
With the original spring plate removed, installing the Tyrant Design extension was a breeze: simply transfer the spring follower from the front spring to the extension, insert the spring and follower, and cover the extension with the magazine.
The command makes it easy to remove the small belt behind the extension, which can be depressed by pushing it firmly against an empty housing or other solid object - no channel lock required.

The magazine extension works as advertised. I had a bit of trouble getting these down to round 14. In practice, it's not a problem, but in the final round he definitely has a lot of pressure to get there. Even if more pressure is applied, the magazine can be inserted with the bolt closed, but the magazine will not fall freely when loaded.
I did a few tests to see how the magazine would perform when the gun was working properly. When fully loaded, the magazine is hard to seat and does not fall freely. However, it seems that you can keep the magazine full for up to 12 rounds and still have it fall out of the gun. If there are more magazines than this, the magazines tend to be stuck in the magazine. This seems to be an issue with the Glock mag, along with the extra spring pressure causing the bulge near the bottom of the OEM Glock mag.
When fully loaded, the sides of the magazine protrude far enough to secure the rifle's magazine. This may be a problem for some, but for me it's a minor problem as I don't see myself throwing out a fully loaded magazine. In normal use, the spring provides enough pressure to properly feed the gun and lock the bolt in its final position.
